We are so excited to be having a baby girl! We found out this morning at our big ultrasound, and it was such an amazing experience. Being able to see the baby on the screen was great, and the technicians were so awesome. They explained everything they were looking at and showed us what she was doing. Baby Deller was very stubborn (product of two first-borns!), and decided she would lay upside down for the ultrasound. We tried moving her a few times, but she just would not move.
We were able to see that everything looks very healthy! The technician pointed out her fingers and toes, and bones and her spine and tailbone and the 4 chambers of her heart and her stomach and kidneys. Everything looked great, and Baby Deller was so calm the entire time.
The first technician asked us if we wanted to find out the gender, and we of course said yes. She did some looking around and was able to get a shot of the baby girl. She pointed out the three lines to prove that it is a girl, and Brett's reaction was "OH MY GOD!" He was shocked, but so excited and scared at the same time. He will now be wrapped around two girls fingers! The second technician came in and confirmed that it was a girl. She made sure to tell us to let her know if she was wrong, because she has been right for the past 19 years. We had a feeling deep down that she was a girl, and we cannot wait to meet her. We are SO excited and just on cloud nine right now.
We were really lucky to get a couple pictures from the technician and they are below for you to get a glimpse of our little girl.
This is a zoom-in shot of her profile. She has her little hand up by her eye. She is lying down in this picture, but you can see her little nose and profile and her little arm and hand she kept by her face.
This is our "for sure" shot that we have a little girl. She was turned upside down so her tush is twisted a little bit sideways. But her one leg is sticking out that you can see (you can see her femur and two bones in her lower leg). The arrow is pointing to where you can tell it is a girl. The 3 lines indicate the female parts and proves that we have a little girl on our hands.
We are so excited and cannot wait to actually meet her! Now it is time to hit the shops for some cute pink nursery decorations and clothes!

ReplyDeleteCongratulations. Yeah, a baby girl. We are so happy for you guys. I can't wait to buy little girl things. We have the cutest baby things at the shop that I keep looking at hoping that I could get them for.She is so precious in her ultrasound pictures. I remember how exciting it was to see your baby and feel her for the first time. We are so happy for you and hope to see you soon.

Chels and Brett - I don't know if you know this or not, but your dad was not able to go to your ultrasound, so your mom asked me to go with her. During that ultrasound, you raised your little arm and hand and actually waved at us. We knew right then that you were going to be quite the social gal. Gpa and I are so happy for you and what fun you will have with your baby. Brett, you have no idea how much a little girl and wrap you around her finger. This is so exciting and it couldn't happen to a nicer couple.
